- Upload a recent electricity bill. We read your billed usage and charges off the bill, compare current Texas plans against that usage, and show which plan fits — including the fees and teaser-rate terms. You enroll directly with the provider; we never enroll on your behalf.
- What file types can I upload?
- PDF, JPG, and PNG, up to 10MB. A clear phone photo of the bill works, though a PDF from your provider's website reads most reliably.
- Do you store my bill?
- No. Your bill is read in memory to produce the analysis and is never written to storage. The details shown in your results — including your ESI ID and service address — come from that single analysis and are not saved after it.
- Do you ask for my SSN or date of birth?
- Never. Providers may ask for a government ID or SSN for their own credit check during enrollment, which happens on their site, not ours. betterplan.ai does not collect, transmit, or store those details.
- Which areas do you cover?
- Our plan data covers the Dallas market (Oncor delivery territory) and the Houston market (CenterPoint delivery territory). These are the two largest deregulated markets in Texas, but they are not the whole state — we do not publish statewide figures.
- How current is your plan data?
- Plan data is refreshed daily from Power to Choose, the Public Utility Commission of Texas's official comparison site. Every figure traces to a dated snapshot, and the methodology page explains how weekly comparisons are made.
- How much will I save?
- It depends entirely on your usage, your current rate, and what is available in your market — so we do not publish an average. Your analysis gives a figure specific to your bill, and when the best available plan costs more than what you already have, we say so and recommend staying put.
- Is it free?
- Yes, the analysis is free to use. We do not accept payment from providers to rank or feature a plan, and the links we give you to enroll carry no affiliate tracking.
